Proactively work as a business partner to the finance department to facilitate the preparation of filings.  Challenge data and information integrity and reliability.  This person will also assist with the preparation of US GAAP and SEC disclosure checklists.  Ad-hoc responsibilities will include technical accounting research and memo preparation. 

1. Manage monthly close, reporting, and analysis tasks to ensure results are properly reported and controls are maintained. This includes, but is not limited to:
a. Working through close efforts and overseeing BU accountants
b. Understanding and communicating variances to senior management
c. Ownership of the BU P&L
2. Business partner effectively with the BU GM / Executive to provide the analysis and guidance they need to make decisions and run their businesses
a. Create Value Added Analysis – (recurring & adhoc) 
b. Business case preparation
c. Other financial modeling/analysis as necessary
3. Manage all aspects of the annual planning and forecasting cycles
a. Strategic Plan preparation
b. Annual Op Plan preparation/review and presentation (incl. modeling and messaging)
c. Monthly forecast preparation (including Q1 Review prep and presentation)d. Salary planning process participation. Capital planning process participation. Sales planning process participation. Inform Division/Product Controllers of items impacting forecast and plan.
4. Maintain an environment in full compliance with all GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley rules. Perform SOX testing as required. Complete Self Audit and annual external audit deliverables
5. Process improvement:
a. Review current processes, drill to root causes of issues
b. Work with respective groups to improve processes/increase controls. Includes following up with groups to ensure changes occur (if outside of your direct span of control)
Additional Controller Responsibilities
6. Manage the client relationship
a. Perform contract reviews to ensure financial viability
b. Manage accounts receivable 
c. Create effective relationships with shared service groups and BU operations to ensure service excellence.
7. Provide leadership within the Finance department, both directly and indirectly
a. Actively participate in and when called upon lead Finance driven projects and directives
b. Deliver consistent efforts towards improving business processes within the BU and overall Finance department
c. Assist GM’s in developing and driving strategy and strategic objectives 
d. Where applicable, mentor junior Finance associates in both their work and their careers with
